Claims coding

ICD-9-CM is based on the World Health Organization's Ninth Revision, International Classification of Diseases (ICD-9). There is no specific code for paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH). Therefore, you may be required to use multiple diagnosis codes to accurately reflect the patient's particular disorders. Access specific diagnosis classifications and associated ICD-9 codes.

Each payor or plan may have different coding or form requirements for claim submissions. Alexion recommends that you confirm this information prior to submitting a claim for SOLIRIS® (eculizumab). Until SOLIRIS is assigned its own Healthcare Common Procedural Coding System (HCPCS) J-code, payors will require that you use a miscellaneous code to designate the drug.
