How to Order Soliris®

When treating PNH with Soliris, patient compliance is critical (refer to dosing and administration section). Because of the importance of receiving Soliris on a regular basis, Alexion has created a dedicated team of Customer Operations Representatives who will work with your office, your designated distributor, or the supplier required by your patient’s insurance to ensure timely delivery of Soliris.

  1. To purchase Soliris: Simply place your order with an authorized Specialty Distributor. An Alexion Customer Operations Representative will arrange delivery.
  2. To utilize a Specialty Pharmacy: Send your completed prescription to the payor-designated Specialty Pharmacy. The Alexion Customer Operations Representative will work with the Specialty Pharmacy to facilitate order processing and delivery.
  3. Receipt and Storage: Soliris must be refrigerated upon receipt and will be shipped overnight in an insulated cold-chain container. Refer to item #16 in the Soliris Prescribing Information: How Supplied/Storage and Handling for additional information.

WARNING: SERIOUS MENINGOCOCCAL INFECTIONS

Soliris increases the risk of meningococcal infections. Meningococcal infection may become rapidly life-threatening or fatal if not recognized and treated early

  • Vaccinate patients with a meningococcal vaccine at least 2 weeks prior to receiving the first dose of Soliris; revaccinate according to current medical guidelines for vaccine use
  • Monitor patients for early signs of meningococcal infections, evaluate immediately if infection is suspected, and treat with antibiotics if necessary

The effect of withdrawal of anticoagulant therapy during Soliris treatment has not been established. Therefore, treatment with Soliris should not alter anticoagulant management.

The most frequent adverse events observed in clinical studies were headache, nasopharyngitis, back pain, nausea, and fatigue.
